The next stage of Beaver Bridges Ltd work to install a bridge over the A5 at Mile End in Oswestry will be carried out next Monday when the bridge is lifted into position on the evening of Monday 27th November, we will be using a 1000t crane to lift the 68 tonne bridge into place, one of the largest cranes in the country onto newly constructed concrete foundations delivered as part of Beaver Bridges full turnkey services.
The 50m single span bridge (length of an Olympic swimming pool) has been designed to accommodate both cyclists and pedestrians, allowing easy and safe access to the Oswestry Innovation Park which is the next project in the Mile End trilogy marking the second key development to the area following the Mile End junction improvements, completed last year by Balfour Beatty plc Shropshire Council & WSP Together, these works will support the planned development of much needed employment land in the town at the Innovation Park.
The on-site activities will continue with the installation of around 200 metres of ramps, drainage and landscaping, which will see the completion of the works by spring 2024.
