The tunnel boring machine (TBM) has arrived in Hong Kong to get prepared for the excavation of the new tunnel section from Tung Chung Station to the future Tung Chung West terminal.
The TBM is over 100m long and weighs around 1,000 tonnes. After being separated into 16 major components and delivered to Hong Kong, the TBM will be reassembled and launched on-site later. This new railway infrastructure will expand connectivity and convenience for the communities MTR Corporation serve.
