The Southern Renewals Enterprise VolkerRail Ltd Tonbridge Track Renewals team has successfully completed a challenging electrification project at Portcreek Junction S&C 2640 Pts & 2641 Pts.
Completed Electrification Works
Installation Achievements
- 620m of Conductor Rail installed (including 420m new)
- 1,100m of new Positive & Negative cable installed using 26 Cable Management Sleepers
- 6 new Advance Plates
- 4 new Track Disconnectors
- New Points Heating system including:
- 1 control cubicle
- 2 PHTs
- 2 TCBs installed by the Points Heating team
Additional Works
- Successful Section Proving with Eastleigh ECR before handback
- Switch-out of HV Feeders 2275 & 2218 for safe track excavation
- Temporary generator installation at Fratton & Portsmouth Substations
