Progress Update

  • Crews poured 280,000 litres of concrete to form the foundations of the new Hopkins Road bridge.
  • Two piling rings dug 48 piles.
  • Road bridge embankments are under construction, with 72,000 tonnes of earth moved so far.
  • The Hopkins Road level crossing will be removed.
  • The new road bridge is set to open by 2026, two years ahead of schedule.
