Electrical Works Begin at Future U6 Terminus in Martinsried

Rhomberg Sersa Rail Group Supporting U-Bahn Expansion

The Martinsried underground station, currently under construction in Planegg, Germany, will serve as the new southern terminus of Munich’s U6 line.

The Rhomberg Sersa Rail Group has been commissioned to deliver comprehensive electrical equipment installation as part of the station development.

Scope of Work

The contract includes a wide range of technical systems, to be delivered by Rhomberg Sersa’s Equipment and Urban Transport teams working in close collaboration.

Key responsibilities:

  • Low-voltage switchgear for station power supply

  • Stationary backup power systems with UPS for emergency power

  • Automation systems for:

    • Operational control

    • Fault and message detection

  • Emergency lighting with separate central units

  • Outdoor cable route including:

    • Civil engineering work

    • Empty conduits and cable ducts

  • Main distribution routes and cable routing systems in the cable basement

  • Additional systems including:

    • Stair heating

    • Tunnel and operational room lighting

    • Lightning protection

    • Fire safety measures

Timeline

  • 🏗️ Start of works: July 2025

  • 🏁 Completion: End of 2027
