Testing Update
Summer might be over, but sand is still making an appearance—this time in the form of 45 tonnes of sandbags loaded into a test train as part of the latest dynamic testing phase for Auckland’s City Rail Link (CRL).
Why Sandbags?

Purpose: Simulate the weight and distribution of a fully loaded passenger train

Verify tunnel and platform clearances

Assess how the train moves and responds under full load conditions

Ensure safety and performance under peak passenger volumes
